"The Premature Corpse" ran from November ? to November ? Peter Legg - Evan Peter is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this third season of ACT. He notes, however, that his character in this performance of The Premature Corpse is not a representation of his typical personality. It was a wonderful experience to be involved in the very first ACT presentation - Neil Simon's The Odd Couple (Female Version) a couple of years ago, and to once again perform with and for friends and neighbours is a real treat. ACT makes excellent use of the Old Town Hall's performance space and Peter applauds the success of this continuing adventure in theatre. Barbara Warnock - Francine Barbara has been very active in local theatre, particularly the Elgin Theatre Guild, where she appeared in Play On, The Nerd, To Die For and Doctor Death. She has since performed in three of Aylmer Community Theatre's productions, starting with the role of "Florence" in The Odd Couple - Female Version in 2001. She was then seen in Drinking Alone as "Carrie" and last season as "Gerry" in Sing On. She then directed The Honourable Member, ACT's most recent production. Barbara is very busy behind the scenes and the success of ACT is due in no small way to her energy and commitment. Bill McKenzie - Larry Since moving to St Thomas, Bill has appeared in Elgin Theatre Guild's production of Little Wome and Picasso at the Lapine Agile. He also assisted in the directing of last season's Wild Guys. This is Bill's first appearance with ACT and he wishes to thank the cast and crew for this opportunity. Allan Leitch - Bert The role of Bert is Allan's first with Aylmer Community Theatre. A member of London Community Players, he most recently appeared as "Ralph Cachenko" in Elgin Theatre Guild's spring 2003 production of To Forgive, Devine. Previous credits include his portrayal of "Charles Babcock", in There Goes the Bride, "Artie Barnes", the reality-challenged jockey in Norm Foster's Office Hours, both with LCP, as well as a number of community theatre productions in the Thorndale area where he makes his home. Allan is enjoying working with this talented cast and crew, and in spite of the aggravations presented by Evan and Francine, looks forward to a continuing association with ACT. Crystal Abel - Thalia Crystal is pleased to be acting again with ACT; this is only her second time on stage. She had a great time playing "Diane" in Sinners during ACT's inaugural season and is enjoying "Thalia's" character this time around. Crystal has enjoyed working with everyone involved in this production. Laurie Deven - Angie Laurie has been involved in little theatre since 1988 when she appeared in Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii at the Old Town Hall. She has been active onstage at the Elgin Theatre Guild, most recently as "Bernadette" in Flaming Idiots, and backstage working on costumes, sets and newsletters. She performed in two murder mysteries this summer on the Port Stanley train. Laurie finds the act of volunteering in the theatre very rewarding. Colleen Sawyer - Director Colleen calls upon her experience in a wide range of theatrical disciplines for her directing debut with Aylmer Community Theatre. During two seasons with ACT, she has stage-managed and done props, lighting and sound. She also appeared as "Vera" in The Odd Couple - Female Version and as the plaid "Polly" in Sing On. Colleen found it a joy to work with such a delightful and talented cast and crew. She would like to give special thanks to Ron for all of his hard work and support. Doug Avram - Producer It has been a blast these last couple of years for Doug. He has directed plays for ACT and the Elgin Theatre Guild and has appeared on stage for both theatre groups as well as doing some dinner theatre murder mysteries. His directing credits include A Christmas Carol, Sing On, and The Odd Couple-Female Version for ACT and Flaming Idiots, Play On, To Die For and Doctor Death for the Elgin Theatre Guild and Some Men Need Help and A Christmas Carol for Theatre Fanshawe. He last appeared on the Aylmer stage in The Honourable Member and will be directing the Norm Foster comedy My Darling Judith. Ron Sawyer - Stage Manager Most of Ron's involvement with ACT has been onstage. You would have seen him last season as "Dave" in The Honourable Member, "Bill" in Sing On and "Marley" in A Christmas Carol. He also appeared in ACT's first season as "Joe" in Norm Foster's Drinking Alone. He first performed on this stage in the 1991 Old Town Hall Players production of Murder by the Book. Ron has enjoyed working with this fun and talented cast. Director's Notes: When a director speaks of a show, the terms "creative direction", "focus" and "artistic vision" are used. When an audience sees a show, they see a finished product complete with sets, costumes and clear characterisations. What they don't see are the gruelling rehearsals, the tears, the fears, and the long, sleepless nights. I have been associated with enough productions to know this is what to expect. Fortunately, what I got in addition was the laughter, the camaraderie, the growth of character and the sheer satisfaction of hard work well done. I have been blessed with a exceptional cast and a talented crew that has given me much more than I ever expected. The community support is much more than I expected. In all, I hope this production, the first of Aylmer Community Theatre's third season, will provide you with as much enjoyment as it has given me. |
